Who Is The Black Dragon Clan?
A Brief History Of Who We Are and Where We're Going
The Black Dragon Clan was formed in November of 2004 in
order to bring together an adult-based, mature group of individuals who enjoy
playing World of Warcraft together. Over the course of playing through World of Warcraft, a number of the original members figured out that they wanted to bring this guild into more of a community-based gaming organization rather than a group that would fall if World of Warcraft ever became a non-relevant game. The problem? There wasn't another game that had everyone's interest like WoW.
With the inevitable release of Star Wars: The Old Republic a game that multiple people had interest in was finally there. With this release, the BDC decided to make the group a community-focused, multi-gaming organization. We've now branched into Star Wars: The Old Republic and will be looking to add more games as we move forward.
The Black Dragon Clan is made up of adult individuals with
the average ages been 25 and 45 years old.
We are a muti-race, mutli-ethnic community.
We have married couples, families, and pockets of friends that all play
together under the same roof. Our community
meshes well and we strive to welcome members that fit into our lifestyle and
want to be here for the long-term. Over the course of years, our community has seen its ups and
downs. We’ve been through mergers, we’ve experienced small break-offs, and we’ve seen our fair share
of drama. We've taken in it stride and we’ve been able to survive going on 8 years as the same entity. If you are looking for a stable, friendly place to play and game, then the Black
Dragon Clan may be the place for you.
We currently have a 50-man Ventrilo Server up and
running. We ask if you feel comfortable
with people and comms, please log in and use the server. It's paid for and
ready to go. Plus, it's so much easier to play when you can talk rather than
type.

The Basics
Man, There Are Rules?
The Black Dragon Clan is an organization with a
community-based and raiding-based group.
We strive to help each other progress in the game and out. We do believe that in our real lives and our
recreational pass times that being a member of a guild is like being a member
of a team or a family. With that said,
we do have some basic policies set forth for membership:
1. RACISM, SLANDER, SEXISM, OR OFFENSIVE BEHAVIOR WILL NOT
BE TOLERATED. PERIOD. Community Managers have the right to remove ANYONE for ANY
REASON from comms and/or the community. We're not trying to be hard asses, but we
have a group made up of all races and sex. Please treat people the way you want
to be treated.2. We do frown upon "Double Guilding". See below for more info.3. Second chances back into the community are few
and far between; because we are a community guild, the community decides on
re-invites. Votes tend to take up too much time and cause too much drama. We
always make sure that a person understands what they are giving up when they
leave, so they should make sure this is what they want.4. We are an age 18 and over guild. Though we do have a select few people under
the age of 18, it is limited to a very small percentage of our entire
membership. Though we do make
exceptions, they are very limited.

Double GuildingSo What's All The Fuss About? This is always a tough subject, as it is something that every person feels differently about. Here is how we - as a community - feel about this subject. First off: People play games to have fun. It's your time, your money, and your hobby. You should do it as you see fit and we have no desire to tell you otherwise. The BDC is a great fit for some, but it's not a fit for everyone - we recognize that.
With that said, being a member of our community means that you will not "double guild". This means that you will not be a member of another guild / community on the same server in which our community is actively playing. Honestly, we'd prefer that be the case for any server in any game we play, but we know that's not practical. If you chose to double-guild, it would be in your best interest to keep it to yourself. If it is brought to a manager's attention that you are, you will be approached about it and risk removal from the community.
This sounds a bit harsh, but understand from our perspective that it costs money and time to maintain this community. We welcome you to bring in any friends and family you have and use our resources as you see fit. If we're going to extend our facilities to you, we'd ask that you understand why we ask this of you. If you have any questions, please feel free to pull a manager aside and we'll gladly explain why we ask this of our community members.
Thanks for taking the time to go through this rundown of our community.
